Ok when I first got my club cab almost a month ago the very first thing I did was remove the rackstop for the "smoke effect"... after all gotta live up to my screen name right? The plate was already slide full forward.

Well after a couple of tanks of fuel averaging the same as my old truck with 33" A/T tires I decided to put my rack stop back in and slide the plate back just a hair to reduce smoke and hopefully gain some mileage back. Was only going to do this until

the next big show I go to ;)

Also I put on an old AFE filter out of my old scotty II that I still had after cleaning it with a K&N kit.

Anyways after I re-installed the rackstop and barely moved the plate back I have absolutely no smoke. And the truck seems to have less get up and go. Keep in mind when I say I barely moved the plate... . I barely moved it!

All I get is a little white/grey puff when I blip the throttle at idle. Does this sound right? I figured with the bigger injectors I would have some form of excess smoke

When I reinstalled the rackstop I changed something. The rod that goes into the AFC that hold the rackstop has that adjustable flat piece that is held in by the bolt? Well I moved that all the way to one side, not sure which side though. Would that have any affect on anything? It seemed to raise/lower the rackstop just a minor bit?

Also my mileage has went down still, I think that may have been my foot playing with my new found turbo noise though. (previous owner, removed then lost silencer ring... . thank God I had a TAG already!)

But if anyone has any input on this I would really like to hear it.

TIA.

Check the boost line to the afc housing. Make sure its not leaking any air. Maybe it just popped off while out for a test ride.

Have you adjusted your star wheel? If its still in the stock position you are enviromentaly friendly. Result low smoke.

I can totally do a disappearing act with all the smoke I chug out.

No boost line is fine, and no I have not even removed the plug for the star wheel. I could do the disappearing act too somewhat until I reinstalled my rackstop.

IMHO - That adjustment allows for variances in the manufacturing process. If you mess with it... you might make it harder/easier for the rackstop to move on the shaft. If you adjust it the wrong way... the rackstop won't move as easily.
