No Speedometer = great fuel milage!

My truck just lost all use of the speedometer/odometer and overdrive. Is this the speed sensor on the transfer case? If so, please help me out with a part number and possibly a good price. If nothing else the milage is great, lets see 0 divided by X gallons of fuel = Thanks for the help guys!

Jeremy,

Yes the speed/distance sensor on the 4x4's is on the transfer case. Can't help you with the part number. I had a similar problem in the past on my 92 4x4 and discovered that the unit was not mounted tight to the transfer case. I would remove the unit and disassemble it and clean it and the electrical connections and re-instal - and just maybe it will work!

Thanks for the help. I pull off the wires and cleaned the terminals and removed the sensor and got all of the grime off and what do you know, it worked. 5 minutes of cleaning is a cheap fix in my book. Thanks again.
