No speedometer

Does anyone know where the speedometer reads from on my 1990 W250 5sp 4x4?

Should be a speed sensor on the drivers side of the transfer case on the tail shaft. On a 90 it might even be a cable. The location is right though. Not sure on sensor or cable, sorry!

mine wasn't working on the 92 when i got it, replaced the part on the transmission i think it was, funny looking offset component, it work for probaly 8months to a year then quit again, im wondering if mine is an issue with the cable running to back of inst. cluster?

speedo is an electric unit on a 90 model, it is probably the sending sensor.
