Thanks to everyone for your replies to my steering shaft replacement post. Ordered Borgeson 943 and replaced the old one. During replacement, I took the steering wheel off (which may have been a mistake). Now, the truck won't start. I have a new battery and new alternator. I have checked the fuses. No luck. Is there anything inside the steering mechanism connected to the starting in park or neutral? I have no more ideas where to check. I checked the following: the steering wheel locks when I turn the key off slightly to the left, I turned the blinkers on one at a time and movedOo. the steering wheel to the opposite direction and they turn off. The lights work, windshield wipers work, everything seems to work except the starting. Any help would be appreciated.

... ... ... ... checking the park/neutral position switch... . be sure that the shift linkage from the column is not disrupted. Yes, the steering wheel isn't connected and it doesn't have to be removed. However, I have had to remove just the steering wheel from the shaft and remove the thick spline to allow for alignment for some reason. (the wheel was not centered as it had been prior to installing the Borgeson. )

Clarify "no start". No crank or no fire?

Since your working right on top of the fusible links and starter wires check them to make sure something did not get cut or pinched.
