No start when hot

This is a '04 3500. No problem starting when cold. Starts right up and runs smooth. After it warms up, say you stop for fuel and go to restart, it just spins over like it is out of fuel. Let it sit for a while, and starts right up. No driveability problems at all. Can injectors cause this?

I will be getting the truck in Monday to start checking things. BTW, it has 114k with everything original.

check your fuel pressure at ur injection pump sounds like your lift pump in the tank to me

Thanks, that I will do soon as it arrives Monday. I was leaning toward the lift pump, but since they have relocated it to the ocean, I was not looking forward to droping the tank. Oh, well.

Something is getting hot. On GM 6. 5s on our M1114s in Iraq, they had to pour cool water on top of the engine where the pump is on that machine. Then it would start. Most of the time, they left it running at the Iraqi Police Stations.

OK, finally got this truck back. OBDII scan showed FRP sensor high. Maybe a culprit, but this thing has the Edge Juice, so scanner showed 27000 psi at idle.

Now I am working with my pump man on the injector problem. I know there is at least one of them leaking and causing the hard start. He is a bosch dealer, but cannot test these. He has to send them to Bosch to get them tested. Then we replace the bad ones, or he has the remans in stock if we want to go with a whole set. Will also replace the lift pump at the same time, as this one is mounted on the filter housing. Thought all of these were in the tank, but '04 models can be either way.

In addition to hard start when hot, if you raise the rpm's above 12k still, it will miss and act like it wants to run away for a few seconds.

Sorry for the long post, but these are so different from the 12v'ers. Anyone want to input on this?

Re-torque the connector tubes before you get carried away. If you had the Miller 9012 you could check the injector return from the head.
