Archived No Start Wire question

I have a purple wire that has been tapped under the steering column for an aftermarket remote door/alarm system#@$%!. I do not have a schematic and the truck wont start and the radio/cigar lighter is all dead. I have checked all fuses, but they are all fine. The alarm system LED is not lit up, and from past experiences it will not start. I think removing the thing is best, but I need to fix this purple wire first and get some power back to the dash. Does anyone know what the purple wire runs or where it is powered? Thanks for the help

Got it fixed tonight, still not sure what that purple wire does, but i did find a burnt up fuseable link.

Glad you got it running. I have 96 service manual I can look at. Wiring mite be the same for ignition. Hopefully someone with 97 manual can help you out.

Don't see any purple/violet wires in wiring diagram for ignition switch. There is a dark blue one.
