Any BOMBERS left hanging around the forums?

Stupid question of the day

Purchased 2013 3500 automatic 2 weeks ago from dealer 3 hours away. Will not start manually or remotely, either way the starter engages for 1 second then nothing.Need to head south Friday morning, any help appreciated.

I know you already assessed battery condition. But recently I had batteries just die literally overnight. I thought it was something else electrical but battery replacement completely solved the no-start condition.

When you say "then nothing" be more specific. Do you loose all lights, just get clicking or what? As endoscott said, the first thing i would do is get the batteries tested since they are of unknown age.

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Here are a few things I ran across.

The above items are listed in here as well.

I'm not a mechanic just a paper pusher of random thing off the system.

There should be a grey one wire connector on the firewall near the brake Hydroboost. That should be the wire going to the starter solenoid. Jump B+ to the side closest to the engine and see if it cranks. If it does, do a voltage drop on the positive and negative battery cables while someone is cranking the engine over. Measure negative post to good ground on engine, and positive post to starter stud (not the wire, and not the nut, the stud itself) on the driver side battery. Also measure positive crossover cable from post to post. You are looking for less than 1/2 volt per cable.
