The AC will not work if the tach is not working. In addition to what illflem suggested, check the engine speed sensor which is located in the front of the engine, just above the vibration damper. Gap should be . 049 to . 051 in. If it is off or damaged, your tach will not work. A new one lists for about $100.

Is the pcm on the passenger side firewall and hads three big wiring harrness connecters going into it?Ihave also seen where a few members have had grounding problems at the pcm, what ground wires can have a new ground spliced in to see if its a ground problem or a bad pcm,ive already replace the engine speed sensor with no luck, all other connections look good from what i see,is there a way to test the output on the speed sensor?
