so for the past couple weeks I've noticed that after driving my pickup it idles higher (900-1100) RPM. on initial start up it idles normal but once driven, I experience the previous stated. This morning I was headed to work and came to a stop light. it was idled up to 1100 RPM. once I made my turn, I started going through the gears and then all of a sudden I had NO throttle response and check engine light came on. Pulled over, shut it off and let it sit for a couple min. started back up, still no response. So luckily this was 5:15 in the morning and no one is out on the road that early so I idled in to work which wasn't more than about 5-8 miles. Got to work. shut if off unloaded my personals and ate my breakfast which took approx. 10 min. started it back up and now I have throttle response. Check engine light is still on. Any thoughts. I do have a edge comp programmer but I don't think that would be the issues. Its got 186,000 miles on it.

You can use the odometer to read for fault codes. Turn on ignition switch three times and leave on the third time. The odometer will display any PCM fault codes followed by any ECM fault codes.

I will be interested in the solution to your problem as I have the same year truck.

Check for codes. Do a search for APPS Accelorator Pedal Position Sensor.

I fought mine for 6 months way back in the before time, still under warranty. Dealership would not do anything unless there was a code, and of course, would never do it when I was at the shop. When it finally did crap out and got the code, I was also 0 throttle and had to idle into a parking lot.

Save yourself the brain damage and buy the conversion kit from Genos Garage
