Skid Loader Questions

For a Present!

I just got myself a new toy. I've wanted one for years and I'm not getting any younger. I'll take delivery in Spetember. They haven't built it yet and I don't have a VIN for it. It has a name, 'Gilla (it's a 'he' not a 'she') and vanity tags have been selected.

If I'd gotten the one my dad wanted, I'd have an Indian, but I didn't want one of those. I might be a spoiled brat. ;) I got accessories for it, too.

Jean,

My wife and I have decided that for our 25th wedding anniversary this is what we are going to get...

We have 5 years to pay off her truck and mine so that we can buy it. .

Okay LadyJane;) you my kind of woman:D I use to have a 87 Softail. Rode it over quite a bit of this country got a wild hair up my arse and bought me a 89 FLHTC(think thats what they called it)never did get to take any trips on it. But that Softail was me it was a great bike. Maybe some day I will get another one. What color are you going to get?

This late in the model year I had a choice of black and silver or no bike at all. I chose black and silver. This is odd, because it isn't built yet and I have no color choice... But I wasn't going to argue, it would have been too much work. I saved my energy for picking accessories!

Very nice. :D

Be careful out there. ;)

Have you taken the Motorcycle Rider's Safety Class yet?

Enjoy... ... ... ... .

1998 FLHTCUI-A "Geezer-Glide" & 1976 FLH "Old Blue"

Yup. I took the class to get my motorcycle endorsement. I never ride but I think of the stuff they drilled into me. I'm gonna sign up for the second class for next Spring. The 'experienced rider class' not that I ever think of myself as experienced.

In fact, that class is why I'm getting different handlebars put on Gilla before I pick him up. I wanted enough elbow flex when I rode to be able to do evasive manuvers. The stock set didn't give me enough bend in my arm to evade anything significant.

On my Honda, I never carried a passenger. Gilla will have a solo seat. If a passenger chose to do something silly, I don't have enough mass and muscle to win the steering fight. The idea of having that fight on a bigger bike just didn't sit well. Especially since passengers could easily outweigh me.

Congrats on the new ride! You'll love the Lowrider. I wish mine were a rubber mounted motor. The vibrations are enough to blur my vision at 65mph. Almost non-existant on the dyna chassis like the Lowrider. Harley's have a nice low center of balance. You'll like the way it rides. And folks will like the way you look riding it! And there are always get togethers for Harley riders going on in every locale.

Like's been said above, be careful... People do strange things like motorcyles don't register as vehicles coming their way.
