No Trailer brakes or turn signals

I have a 2006 Mega cab with the 5. 9L and recently started having problems with my trailer lights. My running lights all work, and in the beginning only my right turn signal and brake worked. I checked my fuses and replace 2 of them. Now only my running lights work, it is this way on three different trailers and with my 7 pin and 4 pin.



I tested the lines to the plugs and the turn signal lines read about 11 volts all the time, even if the turn signal is on, when you plug the trailer in all volts disappear. Is there a module that runs the brakes and turn signals for just the towing? What else do I need to check?



This is my first Diesel and I am loving it!

Check with your dealer ! Had the same problem, turns out a fix and download to the computer was in order, covered by warranty too.

If you open the trailer connector the right turn is at the 3 o'clock position and the left turn is at the 9 o'clock position... you need to use a test light and see if it flashes...

There is a reprogram of the computer to raise the amperage where it trips... what can happen is that the computer see's too much current and shuts down. . the dealer will reset the upper current limit which should help... As I remember there is also a set of fuses for the turn signals in addition to the computer... check the fuse cover...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Unfortunately I believe I am out of the warranty unless stuff like this is covered longer. I have already tested the pins and there is no flashing.



Is there a charge to do the flash or is that something that they do as a recall item?

Awesome!!! All taken care of, along with a few recall items, the dealer did the flash and fixed it all.
