Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) No turbo option?

I was doing a price comparison of parts and I called a local dealer (Springfield VA) to check their prices. The parts guy asked the usual questions, year, make, model, engine... ...

When I told him Cummins diesel, he asked with turbo or without? I said huh? He explained that the turbo was an option! I never saw that when I ordered mine!

So, is that the bunch of bs that I suspect it is?

Confirms my tendency to do my own maintenance and repairs!

Every FACTORY dodge truck with a cummins engine has a turbo!! . . the guy must have been thinking of fords... . the early ones.

Some Dodges don't have turbos, they are the ones that the dealer forgets to put back on after repairs.

He would probably be the same crooked repairman who would prey on a single mom telling her that she needed new muffler bearings, or perhaps when the weather changed to get the air in her tires changed from summer air to winter air. . I pulled that one on my ex girlfriend a few years back in high school, and she would not go over 40 till someone told her it was a joke! Oh well, Got to make a funny sometime!! Needless to say, she did not take it the same way I did, so we no longer talk! Oh well... That's my $. 02 worth!
