My Lift Pump Quit On Me Yesterday. I Have Checked The Fuse & The Relay & Have Voltage @ Both; But @ The Plug For The Lift Pump There Is No Voltage At All. I Was Wondering If Anyone Out There Has Had This Problem Before?? Was Thinking Of Running 12 Volts From The Battery To The Pump, But I Don't Won't To Make Matters Worse. My Truck Is An 01 With About 50000 Miles.

Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The pump only runs for the first 5 seconds after you turn the key on and while the engine is running, is that when you were checking for voltage?

I Was Checking For The Voltage Within A Couple Of Seconds. I Had A Test Light Hanging From The Pump Wire. Didn't Know Which Wire Was Supposed To Be 12 Volts, So I Checked Them Both.

Bump the starter (don't start it), and the lift pump should have voltage to it for about 30 seconds. The "pulse" when you just turn the key on, can be pretty quick. I would also recommend that you use a volt meter instead of a test light, any time you are measuring computer controlled voltage.

Thanks Paul, I'll Go Back Out There & Try That. I Just Came Back In From Trying To Put 12 Volts To The Pump; That Didn't Work Either. Sure Has Got Me Wonderin Whats Goin On. I'm Runnin The Faas System; Which Uses The Original Wiring Harness. I Think, For Tonite, I May Go Back Out There & Hook Everything Up Like Original. I Tried The Original Pump Once This Morn. & Didn't Hear It Runnin Either. Right Now, I'm Not Thinkin That This Is A Pump Problem. I Think Its Electrical Wiring Or Maybe A Terminal Somewhere. Thanks Again Paul. Jack Mc.

I Have Lift Off. I Talked To Rip Rook Earlier About Putting 12 Volts Directly To The Fass & It Didn't Start Runnin. The Only Problems They Have Had With The Fass Is With The Brush Screws Not Quite Tight Enough Or The Brushes Need To Be Cleaned. Mine Had One Brush That Was Not Quite Tight Enough. I Snugged It Up & It Took Off. Sure Was Nice To Talk To Someone That Knew What Was Goin On. Rip Is Certainly A Good One To Do Business With. My Hat Has Been Off To Him More Than This 1 Time.
