I'm wondering if anyone else has this experience: When towing around 10k, accelerating up hill, like an entrance ramp,
at about 1700 rpm, I here a noise that seems to be coming from the trans. The noise sort of oscillates with crankshaft power pulses. It sounds kind of like lugging, but I don't think I'm lugging it. Note, when it happens (it is becoming more consistent on acceleration and it is very loud) it only does it when I am towing. Are the counter shaft bearings going out? The trans is a new Dodge replacement trans and only has 25K on it. It is the fourth transmission--Dodge has rebuilt the transmission three times before finally replacing it under warranty. Am I going to need another trans? Every vehicle I have ever owned has had a manual transmission. I have never had trans trouble before this. Don't get me wrong I love this truck but I have to resolve the trans issue because I don't trust the it to go on long trips.
Note, the truck has about 200K on it. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance. See you at T. I. M.
