I am hearing and feeling a slight "rumbling" type sound when turning my steering wheel to the right. It's not a outright grinding. It sounds like it is in the steering shaft about dash board level. Any ideas?

I had the same rumbling and grumbling sound in my truck. I was able to determine, that it stopped completely, when my wife was not in the truck.

As for the mileage, 97k. As for the wife well I could say sounds like the whine of a turbo. ;) But... alas... she told me the other day maybe I should think about a new Dodge. Got to love her! I will check the front end.

It could be the clockspring. Its located right under the steering wheel. If the horn or cruise or both is not working, it would be a likely place to look.
