I have 3500 miles on my 03 QC 6Speed. I have the noise in the transmission that most of us do. Should I get it fixed now or wait until I get 10 or 20 thousand miles on the truck?. Will the noise hurt anything if I wait a while? I just do not want to do without my truck right now. Besides it runs so well and has no vibrations or noise at any speed(except in neutral). I would hate to get it back with a shudder or vibration that I did not have before.

I myself would not do a thing. I consider the noise fairly normal for a heavy duty trans and clutch. If the dealer disassembles a brand new vehicle, the odds of them getting it back together without damaging anything or even completing the job correctly are slim (this has been my experience with the dealer I work with anyway). Drive it and enjoy.

I got it fixed with the clutch spring TSB and am much happier with the truck now. There was absolutely no difference in the operation of the clutch after the change. Changing it is not brain surgery and if you do not trust your service department to do it, you should be able to get one that can. I would get it fixed now and enjoy the truck without that annoying rattle.

I hadn't heard of the clutch spring before. That should be simple enough to fix. I take back my previous post and would get the dealer to fix it. He's probably done it before so shouldn't be a learning experience for him. Good luck.

no i got mine done then put the ez on there and the clutch will not hold. everyone else said there clutch in stick config is holding the ez.

I'd let it be. I swear I think mine is less noisy than when it was new. In fact, I don't even notice it anymore. Either the noise went away or I got used to it. In either case I'm in the "if it ain't broken don't fix it" crowd.

Mine never got better and the noise really got to me. I had it fixed at 6893 miles, I just turned 10,000 miles today and the noise never came back. It is a much more pleasant ride. I really don't know what harm it would do to change the clutch plate, it is not a big deal to do.
