Noise on Cool Hose

Issue 56 of TDR listed resutls of test that showed 7 hp gain with cold air intake and removing silencers in the turbo intake. My question is will the tag

3 in the intake hose cut down on the noise level and just how much noise is

there. I have done the homemade cold air and love it, I would like to do the cool hose but don't want much noise.

I can't speak on the tag 3 that you mentioned but the cool hose with the silencer ring gone will have a significant increase in noise. the turbo will howl like a banshe and overall turbo spool up is great but still nothing to write home about as long as your straited piped. i cut out a triangle section of the air box on the bottom corner just behind the intecooler. that alone has let in alot of air.

I have the air-box mod, cool hose and TAG, with the stock turbo. I would say that the turbo noise is the same as stock.

The PSM intake along with the cool hose will increase the sound of the turbo. It is not alot, but noticable.

I did the PSM intake and cool hose but left the silencer ring in place. Not much more noise other than I can hear that turbo whistle and I love it. It's most noticable when pulling my big fiver but around town I never hear it.

I think it is the TAG that is keeping things quieter for me.

I upgraded (cut) the air-box, added the cool hose and the tag III, a little more turbo whine, not offensive.

Haven't been out on the open road but, appears to have created more pick-up on the local roads.

I wouild like to hear the feedback on the muffler (removal) by-pass, noise level, which I haven't done.
