I saw where people were taking this filter (for lack of the actual term) out. My question is? Does it help or

hurt anything. Or do some people just like hearing the turbo whine (like me).

comrade! i looked into this about a year ago. from what i gather, it makes a slight amount more turbo noise with baffle/foam removed. no other benefits other than noise. i did not remove it as of yet. i do wonder what would happen if that foam began to disintegrate when it gets old or dry and then gets sucked into the turbo.... cheers!

I removed mine. It didnt make much difference in noise but I feel better with it out. It didnt look like it was performing a needed service and was brittle and in bad shape. Now I know nothing is going to get sucked through.

comrade! how old was your foam? thanks in advance. cheers.

This has been discussed in the past and it's a complete waste of time to remove.

Too Late! Took 10 minutes, which I did not think was a waste of time. I am retired so I have plenty of time to tinker with stuff. And being new to RAM trucks, I am having fun. That being said , DHayden was correct. Not much change.

I thought I would check mine to see if it was getting brittle. It seemed fine. Good, bad or indifferent this is how I found the foam inside. I have had some work at the dealership so they may have jammed it back in, but it could have been from the factory. 2015 with 57,000 miles.
