pusher pump is great!... .....

but how do i quiet down the noise it makes? i built a stainless steel bracket and mounted the pump to it. then i mounted the bracket to the frame with some bolts and plumbers goop between the frame and bracket. i can feel it vibrating and hear it when i'm idleing and traveling at slow speeds! 15psi is great but i can't stand listning to this thing run all the time! any ideas would be great!!! thanks..... james

Suggestion

Just a suggestion:

take your braket off and install some rubber bushings to isolate the vibration and resonating. Make sure the mounting bolts don't contact the frame either.

Hope this helps

The humm from my pusher pump is like a security blanket to me. When I hear it, I know it's working. Maybe a false sense of security though :)

I used a bracket off a carter pump that I tried before going back to the stock replacment luft pump. The bracket for the carter has 3 rubber grommets that you slip into the holes you decide to use.

My lift pump can't be heard at all if engine is running. :D

I do not know what they are called...

But they are a rubber cylinder with a bolt sticking out each end. They will quiet it down as much as anything because no part of the pump directly connects the frame.

Steve is describing the Carter Quiet Pack for Carter Pusher Fuel Pump, part number 1814-U. Using the Carter bracket with the rubber grommets and the Quiet Pack, there will be no transmission of noise through the frame. It also helps to connect the pump to the fuel system with hoses rather than solid lines and fittings.
