Noise With The Cruise Control On

Does anyone's truck make a slightly audible noise while the cruise is on? I have heard it a couple of times before today. I pin pointed it to when the cruise is on. It is a whirling type noise which appears to be from under the hood. It starts about two seconds after the cruise is on and goes away when it is turned off... really strange... . CJ

Try this

It was discussed on hear a while back. I think what you are hearing is the go pedal vibrating. Mine did not do it when I first got it but it does now. Not every time. I put my foot by the pedal and it stops. Rest your foot next to the pedal or put your foot under the pedal and it stops. I read on hear where they replaced someones pedal assembly. I have not taking it back to them for this yet. I think someone on hear fixed theres by bending something or adding something to it.

I will check it out today. It is annoying. My 01 never did this... or maybe it was so loud I never noticed it. I can here this with the radio on... CJ

Yes, I'm sure whatever the problem is has existed for a very long time but just wasn't noticeable until they quieted the trucks down.

FWIW the rubber band trick worked for me, and still works 120000 miles later. I had to remember to do it again after I replaced the throttle cable at about 75000 miles.
