noisy exhaust

Is it possible for the silencer ring coming loose in the turbo causing an annoying vibration through the exhaust system,the sound is much worse with the pack brake applied?

The silencer ring is on the compressor side (intake) and would not effect the turbine side (exhaust). There is a ring, spring type, that holds the ring in, the function of the ring is to silence the rush of air going into the compressor... mine will stay home!
