Opinions on Keystone 5th wheels

A friend of mine has a 25' "Nomad" by Skyline Trailers. I want to say it is a 2003 and had the cabinet upgrade, aux battery, ducted heat and most extras installed. Anyone know if these are good trailers? Is $9000. 00 a good price? Are these trailers well insulated for winter use? NADA shows this below low book and the trailer is essentially in new condition. Any constructive input would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Henry,

I have a 1998 26' Nomad and it is a great T. T. If that trailer is in good condition that sounds like a good price. I have only had mine down to 20 degrees F and with the heater it was fine. If you want to dry camp look at how big the holding tanks are, I'm at 30 gal fresh which is not alot. We use our trailer at R. V. parks and it works fine.

A friend of mine had a 5er and they were full timers. He had it over loaded and kept breaking springs untill I talked him into putting in 6200 lb. axles. Aftet he did that in Whitehorse, Yukon he had no more problems. It was insulated pretty well and he liked it .

Hey folks, thanks for the input. I'm going to trial run the trailer this weekend to see if I like it. Appreciate the info.

Thanks, Henry

We bought our nomad new - but rolled. It had been on its side and never made it to the dealer. The awning took most on the brunt of the crash. I bought it from a guy who buys totals and then fixes them up for resale. After trips to Mexico, and Alaska I can say that this one is built fairly well. There was some cosmetic stuff to fix when we got it but all in all it is a decently built trailer, especially considering they are moderately priced.

Well, we tried the trailer out this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. It does have the 30 gal. fresh water tank, so I will install a secondary tank to increase capacity. Aside from that, the only thing I wasn't impressed with was the vulnerabilty of wiring and ducting inside the storage compartments. After I fix those issues, I think I will be pretty content with the package. Thanks again for the input!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
