ok, here is the deal...

I called and got stupid on my rep after hearing that Big bob was getting CA trucks...

After a few calls to detroit, She calls me back and say that we CAN order CA trucks, but we have to sign a waiver... and that the trucks cannot be registered in "regular" states, only CA-emissions states

SO... I am letting ya'll know this for two reasons:

1) I CAN NOW ORDER CALIF. TRUCKS WITH YCH-(CA EMISSIONS) AND STILL DO THE 3% UNDER INVOICE PLUS REBATES

2) This ALSO means ANY dealer can do the same, as long as they sign the waiver from DiamlerChrysler that releases DC from any wrong-doing

So, now you CA residents can tell them CA dealers to STICK IT!! --- You can buy ANYWHERE you want!!!! (as long as the dealer has the "special" waiver", AND orders the truck with YCH)

If anyone likes, please email me with any questions about the waiver issue

PS- to quote one of my favotire lines: "and the truth shall set you free!"

Oh, by the way, I wasn't getting the trucks, I'm not in the auto sales business, Butch at Dishman put this together, that's who I bought the Ghost Rider from, I was just passing on a great deal! Oo.

Mark-up on a Diesel 2500 or 3500 is right around 4000. 00 give or take a couple of hundred. For the Larmie's it'll be higher for ST's it'll be lower. 4000. 00 is a good ballpark.

Thanks for checking on that Tommygun, I'll follow up on this with my rep.

Tomey Gun,does 10% to 12% off msrp sticker put you close to or below invoice?

Here is an example:

(dually quad 4x4, 6-spd)

MSRP - 43860. 00

invoice - 39117. 00

So that nets a 10. 81396% markup, ---- SO, simply, yes at invoice

Hope these licensing questions fit in here. When I am ready for new or newer truck I'm wondering if I bought it for my daughter in Anchorage when does it become used in Calif. or other states. Would I need to drive it to that state for licensing? If I did not ultimately move there I would probably have to license it in Ca. since they frown on living here with a foreign lic. Their $75 annual dsbld/hdcppd license of my 95 CTD was a sharp drop from $235. But if I keep this 4x4 I need some of those auto steps to help out old knees. Thks for any answers. The way I believe it, The truck is OK to come into CA after 7500 miles, but the problem would be that you live in CA, (right?) -- and they would catch that i think...

And I don't think the truck has to be there to register in alaska, At least not here in Missouri...

does that answer you question? or better yet, what are you trying to achieve?

Thks tomeygun. Squeezing the retirement dollar seems to make me look at tax savings.

It is perfectly legal to trsfr vehicles to relatives within the state tax free in Ca. , which we have done in past

So, the savings comes from my daughter in Ak giving or selling to her dad in Ca, whether new or used. Besides the great beauty of that land and sea, it is in sales tax, quite free.

Now if Ca has something against a relative(living out of state)giving a NEW vehicle to a next of kin in Ca tax free, the question next is, what about a USED one? I suspect the answer to the first one is, yes they want the tax, but I am not sure.

Even a used one, if "I" bought it out of state will be taxed, right? I realize best answer will probably be to check with DMV, but TDR members give great advice on a lot of things.
