MD TDR Gathering at Cummins Powersystems Report

Nov 25th KCIR - Final day of the season!

As my first time posting on the TDR site, I am pleased to announce the location and dates for next year's

2002 NORCAL DIESEL RALLY

I have verbal agreements with the fairgrounds for the dates, the actual contracts do not go out until some time in December, but I wanted to give everyone out there as much time as possible to figure this one into your schedule.

I have also added a little something extra to the NORCAL website, it is a little feature that allows you to receive an email message every time the NORCAL site is updated. I invite you to take advantage of it to keep you informed of new information as it is posted.

This will be the third year for our "all-brands" diesel event, the past two years, we have had folks like Nowel (HVAC), Bpine, My6eats8s, big bad dodge, and a few others hangout with us for the weekend, and I just wanted to extend an invite to the rest of the Cummins folks to join us for an all around great weekend!!

Details of our upcoming event can be found

www.norcaldieselrally.com

Put this on your calendar for next year, I hope to see everyone there!!!

Hey Big Jake,

Glad to see you on this site as well as Diesel-Central. Welcome aboard!!

Was good to see you at the track yesterday. I think we all had a pretty good day.

Will make every effort to make it to the NorCal rally next year!!

Tom

Thanks, Tom!

Thanks for the welcome, Tom! Yeah, we had a pretty good time there at Sac raceway, I am looking forward to meeting many more members of the TDR site, judging by the ratios of Fords to Cummins people at the track, I had better act fast, lots of new names to remember!!!!!

This next NORCAL will definitely be our biggest and best to date, looking forward to bringing in more Cummins folks and even a few brave Duramax's if they can be found.

In addition to that, I will be working with HVAC to do smaller NORCAL-related events throughout the year.

NorCal "02

Well I'm very enthusiastic about the new location.

Should be a cooler venue for this little coffee clatch:)

It would be great if we could work a sled pull into the scheme. Get the MLM sled up here and open participation to everyone. We'll need to get some butts in the seats to offset the cost of the sled.

Marine World isn't far away if a family wanted to spend some time there over the course of the weekend. Then there is the wine country for those

connoiseurs of adult beverages:)

Now, time to plan the food program!!!

Nowel:

I just got off the phone with Brian Massetti, we are working that part of the program out as we speak. I am working up my rally plan to present to the Fair Board for approval. Once word gets out that we are planning a sled pull and other pickup truck events in downtown Napa that are open to all on the 4th of July weekend, I don't think its going to be a problem to fill 2600 seats.

Maybe we can fit the Lil Red Rocket with some paddle tires and hook it up to the sled!!!!!

As for the food, I will have to give that one some thought, don't think I am up to a mudbug boil for 2600!!!!!!

 :D :D

I want to thank all on the TDR who have checked out the Norcal website, I also want to remind folks that you can click on the appropriate box there to receive an email every time the website is updated.

MLM Sled Pull Right ON!!!

You are the man "BIG JAKE".

For anyone reading this, Big Jake is a friend of the TDR Ram Runners and consequent Dodge/Ram community of northern California. He drives an alternative diesel pickup and we don't let him forget it!:D That beig said, read on... .

Big Jake, Brian has graciously offered to fit the "Lil Red Rocket" with a set of 18" wheels and tires for pulling. He is a sadistic man don't you agree. He just loves to see the "Terminator" (the sled) ring up us helpless pickup owners!!!

Welcome

Like Tom said BigJake, welcome to the TDR :D

I told Bryan I am availible to give you guy's ahand with anything, Looking forward to helping out.

Hey, I bet if we advertised the smoker tractors we would get some seats filled.

Take care,

Scott:

Thanks for the welcome, I look forward to working with a lot of you guys here on the TDR.

I am in contact with the folks at MLM regarding the pulling events, I will rely on Brian Massetti from MLM to let me know what we can have there.

dabubba:

Forgive me for my ignorance, being new here and all...

Are you interested in being a vendor, or are you interested in what types of vendors we will have?

Who would you like to see, let me know and I will pursue it for you. Feel free to post here on the page or email me, if you like.

As HVAC said it earlier, I drive "an alternate brand" of truck, so I am not overly familiar with Cummins- oriented products.

If you folks would like to be notified every time the webpage is updated, there is a special button you can click on the website that will send you an email.

Tried to access the norcaldiesel website and could not enter it. I will try again. Can you let me know what the dates are so my wife and I can plan the trip? Thanks :)

egrout:

For some reason, I can not access the NORCAL website from the TDR site, I checked everything and it all appeared in order, will contact my webmaster for details.

Anyway, in the meantime you should know that the 2002 NORCAL DIESEL RALLY will be held (pending the signing of a few contracts),

at the Napa Valley Exposition in downtown Napa the weekend of July 5-7, 2002.

We plan to take over much of the fairgrounds with our diesel event which is open to all brands of diesel pickups. We also are negotiating to have truck competition events which will be open to all, such as sled pulling, mud-bog racing, mud tug of wars ands whatever else we come up with.

We will have a large RV parking area set aside (it will be mostly dry camping, however there will be some sites with hookups available), more about this once the contracts have been signed.

Big Jake,

I'm glad you're promoting this here. More participation can only make a better event. Take the Oct Showdown as an example; there were even some GM trucks there.

Looking forward to it, hope I can make it down!

Steve:

I never expected to run into you in Tulare, you must forgive me if I didn't recognize you at first.

Given your penchant for travels down this way, I don't doubt you will make it down to Napa next summer, hope you convince the rest of your NW club to follow you down as well.

the link to the NORCAL website appears to be working now
