Hi all,
Just got my ISSPRO Boost Gauge installed and now have some questions. What do you guys with 18cm housings see for boost levels? Mine stays down low most of the time, but pulls about 10 to 15 on accelleration and peaks at 20 in 5th and WOT. Is this normal?

Also, for those who are interested, one of the salvage yards down in Pueblo has a 95 CTD engine for $3500 complete.

Later,
Joe

Same thing here Joe. I just installed mine this past week and I get the same boost. See the signature. See Ya!... ... ... ... Racer

About the same for me Joe. I get about 3-5psi at cruise speed 90kph. With throttle up it runs about 12-15psi and WOT empty is around 22-23psi when cool out, otherwise around 20-21psi in warm dry temps.

I get similar numbers to those quoted above. Running empty at 100 kmph (60 mph) with cruise engaged, 1 - 3 lb is average, into a head wind it might be up slightly. Towing a 7000 lb 5th wheel 100 k cruise will be between 5 and 10 lb boost, wot about 25 lb.
Have had problems in the past, over about 8 lb continuous, transmission will overheat, solution is to disengage OD and run at higher rpm.
Just yesterday I had the torque converter replaced, initial indications running empty are that at 100k, rpm is down just over 100 rpm.
Hope this helps.

Ian - what TC do you now have - any impressions on its effect, compared to the original? Cost?

I only get 19 lbs at wot. I have a stock truck other than a 16 cm2 housing. Is that why I don't have as much "topend" boost?

Get around the same numbers on my 89. On the highway at around 65 MPH get 4-7 Psi depending on the wind hills etc. If I am in race mode get about 23 PSI at 2500 in 3rd and 4th and reaches 24-25 Psi in 5th gear on the climb to 90 MPH. If its a nice cold day I have reached 26 psi.

I have yet to move the gauges over to the 93, might just buy new, but don't have any numbers for it yet.

After driving the stock 93 for a week and back to the 89 today, boy do I have to BOMB the 93... Stock sucks...

Ian,
I'm getting just about exactly the same boost numbers as you are. My trailer weighs around 6K. I take the transmission out of OD when I hit a hill to keep temps down and this also drops boost just a little due to the higher RPM.
