Normal EGT for 05

Wondering what others are getting EGT wise with their 05... after I pull into the driveway, my EGT is at about 350, and even after a minute or two, only goes down to 320-325. Is this a low enough temperature to turn off the motor? Are others seeing similar temps?



On the highway in 6th gear at 75mph, I'm seeing around 650

300 or so is normal for shut down.

The 04. 5 and 05's idle at that temp because of the third injection event. Mine is the same way and this is normal for us. This is considering that the ambient temp is greater than 75° F.



Before shutdown I let the EGT's settle out within a few degree's and call it good. If it is 70° F I shutdown at roughly 300° to 310°, if it's 100° F I shutdown at 320° to 325° F.



One other note, be sure and turn off your A/C about a minute before you get to your driveway.



I had an 03 and a 99 before this 05 and they would cooldown alot faster than my 05. We can thank the enviro nazi's for this.
