Tulsa Oklahoma Guys Make it Home ok?

Tulsa Dyno Day

Just wanted to say thanks to all that attended I know some of you guys logged a lot of miles to get here. I think everything went fairly well. I know I certainly had a good time. The guys at True Blue say we are welcome back any time. Maybe we can do it again after everyones pocketbook has recovered, later this year.

Well I got John P squarely in my sights now, wonder what I need to get around him. John, you aren't going to give me a chance to catch you are you?

Once they got the sensor working everything ran flawless and we saw some pretty decent numbers I think.

I pulled a 357 / 848 and I was very happy. I'll let the rest of you do your own bragging, but remember I got the results, so keep it straight :)

We have a good start to the Mid Atlantic chapter we had 15 members sign up, I'll get the paperwork off this week. I'll let you know when its official.

Thanks again to everyone,

Wes

Thanks to you WEs, Chris for a great meet. Had a grand old time ,met some new fellows and some fine pizza. Catch you all next time. Charles

I too had a great time.

What is the purple "SMILE" thing supose to be??

I still have a great big grin on my face from my drive back. I really tried to get rid of it but it won't go away. This is like a different truck. Oo.

I found someone that looked like me driving my truck pulling roughly 11000 LBs racing off the lights in actionville on the way home. :D :p Within the speed limits of course. Does anyone have a short shifter for the six speed? Oo.

I am running only 253 Hp and 620 in Torque from a little 6 cylinder.

I was expecting Charles or the young fellow (sorry I am terrible with names) with the 1st Gen to get on the Dyno and turn out 4852 Hp and 1,000,000 in Torque:D :D They where easy on us young'ns and didn't show us up "THIS TIME"

We had 15 trucks all lined up on the road. As soon as I can, I'll send out the pictures my wife took.

I know John would like the one of his 57 or so foot burn out he did with his truck.

Thanks Wes for a great job setting this up. Now we need to think of something for either Feb or March.

See Ya

Chris

I concur with everything that has already been said!!!

My son (Johnner) and I had a great time!!! Wes, thank you

so very much for all your efforts on this get together! "True

Blue" Performance really treated us right, especially after

you and I COMPETELY filled that six stall garage up with

black smoke and soot!! Did anybody else see that nice

blue floor after we got done?? WOW!! Heh, it is a darn

good thing they moved that shiny red Mustang out of

there too!

Just to let everybody know, Yes,... Wes is definitely "nipping

at my heels" in the H. P. dept!! I should have my "Pier's

Diesel" modified HX-40 back this week so that should

help some. But, congratulations to Wes on his "new"

numbers!! Wes, that wife of yours will have you over

400 H. P. by mid-year!!!!! LOL!!

It was great to see everyone again and to meet some

I had not met prior to Saturday. Daniel Hall, it was

a pleasure to have finally met you! Tom speaks

highly of you! Hope your trip back to Tennessee

was O. K. ! How did the water pump hold up?

Looking forward to our next get together!

Wes,,Glad to see and read you had a fine day,,Numbers you set are making me go back to the drawing board,,Hate to see a improperly valved truck beat up on my little properly valved ,not hitting on all cylinders ride(he he he he he),,Make sure you drop me the info for your chapter,if one is good then two or more are better,,I'll hope to make the next outing and as for the Phord and Brand-X group coming to Kauffman's in February, you need not worry about any of them,,Only one Phord in the area making any smack and he may not attend(not that this would in any way scare us),,Am hoping to have the new clutch in by this meet and a few other new little tricks up my sleeve, but,if I can not get it installed(clutch)before hand we'll pull her till she either screams for mercy or breaks,,Let me know if you need my info sent to you,,Congrats on a job well done... .....

Maybe so. She already asked me, "what do you need to catch him". I told her I wasn't for sure that we would ever catch you.

She tells me "Well, John P says you need a new turbo, that should give you about 40 hp. How much does that cost?"

Life IS Good.

I had a great time guys.

Later that night we keep hearing them playing around on the dyno so we walked over to have a look. They had a 5. 0 with a custom flip chip, and nitrous and he was making somewhere around 350 hp, I think(Do either of you guys remember). Me Chris and Scott (Mr. Schaeffer) hung out for a while and Randy (the guy running the dyno) showed us around. This guy is awesome he has built 3 of the 4 fastes cars in the country for that division. Sorry I can't remember exactly the division. He had one that hit 194 mph in the quarter.

He also had his own project car that he showed us, he guarantees that it will have 1200 rwhp. You should see the size of turbo on this thing. I'm definately going to catch this one at the drag strip.

Hammer:

I'll definately be there , got to keep those fords in their place. I'm really looking forward to it.

Any of you guys down here want to go up to PA for a little dyno fun Feb. 16th???

Later,

Wes

Just a note of thanks to Chris and Wes for setting this event up. It was nice to meet the 'new' people, including Charlie who just happens to live around the corner from me. This dyno shop, once things got going, did a real nice job. Special thanks for our four 'volunteers' to head up the club - Chris, David, John & Wes. I might have been in there if it were not for my retirement travel schedule.

Thanks again - looking forward to next month!

Stan

PS: Wes, your truck rocks!! (Watchout John!)

Lisa and I had a great time again ... as usual!!! Fine job putting this together ... . sure was easy to get them to volunteer eh! I know David has tried to get a chapter going for a while ... at least 2 years if my memory serves me ...

Wish I could've done the camping this ... but . . still no joy getting Toast hooked up . . hope she gets receptive to the stud soon . . ah . . but what do you do???? I've got another trip to make this weekend . . on that I can't cancel.

John sure got the bay doors open in a hurry :D :D :D :D but look out ... I'll be up with ya in the next couple of weeks. Many thanks to True Blue - they were excellent hosts!!!

Wes ... are you going to PA for the 16th? I might try to give Lisa a valentines weekend trip - I know she'd love to spend it with a bunch of good looking trucks ... :p

Keith

I had a blast this weekend. It was great seeing some old faces and meeting new ones. John, it was a pleasure to meet you as well. Never thought I would ever see 5 gauges in action at 100 mph!

As far as the water pump issue, it got me home and thats about it. When i pulled off the exit ramp, it was pouring water. Anyhow, new seal goes in this weekend.

Thanks again to Wes and Chris for organizing this one. Looking forward to many events with the Mid Atlantic TDR.

Wes:

I might be able to go up to Pa. with you guys on the

16th of February! Can you give me a little more info.

on what they are planning there? How about motels,

etc? Wes, will you be pulling your camper up there??

---------

Keith:

I have no doubt you will be "up with me soon!" You

are really going to like the 370's!! BTW, thank you

for your offer on that KDP! I am going to get up there

within the next month. I will call you first though!!

Wes & Chris,

Thanks for putting on such a good event. I can't speak for everyone else, but I had a good time. I just wish I was in the camping crowd. I would be nice to suck some suds with you fellers without having to drive home. Wes, you need to get Tammy to tel Kim how much fun ya'll have camping. BTW, we're going to be in Raleigh this Saturday. Wanna get together for lunch? I tried to send you an email last night with the pics & spreadsheet, but kept getting an error. I'll try again tonight without the picutres and I may have to put them on a CD for you. Thanks again for a good time.

David

I had a blast myself! I was happy as can be when I saw my numbers ( 307 rwhp, 748 tork):D As Keith would say " Life Is Good". It felt good to get away for the weekend. I hope we all can make a go of this new chapter of ours. I know Wes being Pres. we will be ok!;) The guy with the biggest 24v numbers get to be Pres. No hard feelings JonP. :p JonP you just need to guid your son to have that truck of his more powerful than yours! I wish all of us had campers, now that would be a campout! Can you imangine all of us cranking up at one time in the morning:--)

David:

Lunch sounds good just let me know where you want to meet? Will you have your family?

Chris:

So you liked that ride home??

You need to change your signature. That part about not going fast.

Keith:

I'm plan on being there, Good Lord willing and the creeek ain't full of snow. I couldn't think of a better Valentines present.

John P:

This started as a Diesel-Central event so it will be a mixed breed event. I can't wait to crush some Fords. My wife and daughter are going to sit this one out, so I haven't decided on the 5th wheel. This is the same shop where the MD chapter pulled last time, first class operation, not as nice as True Blue, but what do you expect from a bunch of yankees. :)

If you are able to make it we could hook up and then pick Keith up along the way. If anyone else is camping and the roads are clear , I will, and any of you guys are welcome to stay with me.

Otherwise I would be willing to share a motel room.

This should be fun.

I have to disagree I think it should have been after my first pull when Tammy walks over and ask if I need her to drive the thing.

:eek: :-{}

That was bad, but it was dang funny.

Wes ...

But ..... you told us all SHE was going to run the dyno ... what's up with that???

Bet ya would've got at LEAST 375 on the rollers ... if not 400

:D :D :D

LIfe is good!!!!

Keith

When and where

Can I and My underpowered truck join you fellows on your trip??

What is the plan leave on a friday afternoon or what??

I should have my pod in by then and would like to see some numbers.

Wes & Keith

What ya think camp or not??

How long of a drive is this at 65/70 MPH. Thats all the faster I go when towing. Where can we stay??

Of course the big one is the weather. If they are calling for snow then the camper will stay home.

I still have that big smile on my face. I took off this morning out on the highway and went through the gears. This thing moves out.

:D I took a guy with me to lunch today and he said something "like this thing really does sit you back in the seat".

I have to stay out of your truck Wes or I will be looking for $1300 for upgrades.

See Ya

Chris

Chris its about an 8 hour ride from my house. Last time we stayed at a nice campground just down the road, this is where I would go again. If I pull the 5'er I would probably try to leave in the morning so I don't have to set up in the dark. But I am flexible.

Keith you want to meet at the Flying Hook North of Richmond? Does your schedule allow you to get up there on Fri. afternoon?

I know Mr. Schaeffer is looking into going.

Might I suggest if any of you are going solo that we bunk together. I can sleep up to 5 (in their own bed) without putting anyone on the floor, but I don't care whose camper we take. I think it would be silly for us to pull 3-4 campers up there. Just a suggestion let me know if any of you are up for it.
