Holeshot, those are some pricey nozles... ... ... but, they do look sweet. They seem to be worth it though.

Toolman... ..... why not, THOSE 5's will kick your @$$, ok, maybe not, but... ... ...

Hey Tom, hopefully your buddy with the Chevy diesel wasn't too upset. Pigpen started trash-talking 6. 5's when your buddy was standing right next to him and I saw him look over a couple of times as if to say "WTF?" I just shook my head and laughed.

Paul? i think he's alright. he has had great luck with his 6. 5 diesel though. it's straight piped so i couldn't/can't wait to hear it, but it was in the shop. paul has been looking at powerstrokes and cummins diesels to get in about a year so we can all try to push the bombing bug on him.

can't wait for the next meeting!

Tom

... you didn't take any pictures because I didn't do anything crazy that day.

PigPen left early..... so the fun with carb-cleaner couldn't have happened without him.

Paul is alright. I talked with him, too. He had just got done telling Pigpen and I about how he wanted a Cummins and that his current truck was a 6. 5. After he was done talking with us, he turned around and someone else came over to talk diesels with Pigpen and I again. Somehow, I guess Tim was still thinking about 6. 5's because the conversation turned into how 6. 5's were nothing more than a converted 350 small block, and so on and so on. Meanwhile Paul was essentially standing directly across from Pigpen, about 5 feet away. Paul's back was turned to Pigpen. The guy who was debating the virtues of 6. 5's with Pigpen started arguing with Pigpen wich only made him talk louder and more agressively. That's when Paul turned around and looked at both of us like:mad: ," Hey, I just got done telling you guys about my 6. 5, WTF!" I had nothing to say about the Chevy diesels when Paul was telling us about his. I know Tim did though and was probably just refraining himself from going off about them due to the fact that he really didn't know Paul. That's what made it seem funny when he started spouting off about them 2 seconds after Paul had turned his back to him.

Like I said, I hope Paul doesn't think we're all just a bunch of trash talkin a-holes because of that!

For the record: I was involved in that Chevy diesel conversation. If Paul can't take the overspray - then get out of the spraybooth.

Nothing I said had any bias toward any one particular engine or configuration. I gave the facts as they are - and dispelled many myths about the Chevy diesels. They had a rocky beginning, didn't make much power and some had horrible reliability issues... . BUT the fact of the matter is that if it weren't for these early V8 diesels that Chevy and F*rd slapped into a pickup truck... . we wouldn't be as happy as we are today with our trucks... . and to be quite honest... . none of us would even know each other. (LONG sentence!)

Here's an analogy for ya... . The Chevy diesels are kinda like the old MG sports cars. Both never made any real power... and some were not as reliable as they should have been, but they opened up people's eyes and put to market something that eventually would be fined tuned into greatness. Without the MG's... there would be no sports cars; without the early diesels... . who knows what kind of powerplant we'd be running in our trucks.

I would love to give the guys/gals that decided to put 6BT's in Dodge pickups a great big hug... . and a firm handshake. That engine was NEVER designed to be in a light-duty truck... . but in typical Dodge/Chrysler form... . they slapped in a kickbutt powerplant that was capable of making more power than anyone could ever need.

MTY - stepping off my soapbox now... .

Hey Matt, You may want to start going to communications classes... ... ... ..... so you can start telling us how you really feel:D

Basically Matt, I was thinking you should probable start being a little more direct in your methods of explaning things:D

Just goofinOo.

Ain't that true. Well, enough about the labor - Let's just see the baby. :D

Matt,

I just got done typing a reply to your post and the damn thing got erased so I'll make this one shorter .

Basically all I'm trying to say is that Tom brought this guy down all the way from either Maine or New Hampshire ( not sure which). He came pretty far to check out the trucks, have a good time, and see what its all about. It was a shame that he had to hear his diesel getting slammed after coming all that way. Yeah, I know you were justifying its existence to Pigpen, and for Paul's sake its a good thing that you know as much about those GM diesels as you do ( why you'd want to know that much about them is an issue for another thread:confused: ).

Interesting analogy about the MG's/early light truck diesels though:rolleyes:!

i went to a PSD meeting and plan on going to future ones *stupid look*. knowledge is power..... i guess. ha. i haven't talked to paul since, but i know that he enjoyed being there. i hope to get him and dan down again (btw, they're both from NH) at whichever next meeting will be held wherever. Dan says that Paul does his joking/slamming against cummins diesels anyways.

don't sweat the small stuff.

btw brian, we're looking at trying out those camps maybe next weekend. come on, get back to riding;)

oh, and i pulled my plate back a ton:eek: but i'm fully straight-piped now (again).

Tom,

Hey, if I gave the impression that I was sweating the small stuff I'm not. Just trying to be polite, that's all. Paul can joke about any diesel he wants.

I would love to go up to Rangely again. Next weekend I'm going away with the family, though. I talked to Scott and as long as he's still selling it, I'm gonna get his MXZ this summer, so next year hopefully we can hook-up. My work will be starting up real soon so I'll be too busy to get away in March.

Straight piped again:eek: ! Why did you decide to go back to the dark-side?

good. maybe we can all hook up somehow. i only have a 2 week vacation for christmas next year (college), but the year after that will be normal again. we went up to northern NH (Lancaster, colebrook, pittsburg, etc. ) and went to snodeo. not a lot of powder (what's there is crusty). hard packed and very fast/tight on the flat trails. luckily a groomer kept us from speeding by the two rangers with radar guns yesterday:eek:

a couple new machines: 660 4 stroke INTERCOOLED TURBO from arctic cat. ugly hood, but the motor is impressive for what it is. 1000cc V twin from ski-doo 4 stroke.

ToolMan- heard a piped RX1 yesterday- ooooooohhh man!!
