Wheelin' In Moab UT

May Madness 2003 Schedule

May 3&4 Brown's Valley RV will be hosting a dyno event in conjuction with the Sycamore Ranch Fishing Expo. Several vendors will be on hand, possibly the Banks Sidewinder truck on display (will know by the end of the week). I haven't been given details on pricing or anything yet but will post that as I know more. I will also post info on motels and such in the area as it may be a long drive for some of you.

Brown's Valley RV & Performance is a full service diesel repair shop located on CA Hwy 20 between Marysville and Grass Valley(5003 Hwy 20, Browns Valley, CA 530-742-2594). Sycamore Ranch is located just up the street and is a full service RV campground located directly on the Yuba River and is a fisherman's dream (5390 Hwy 20, 530-741-1190).

If anyone is interested in dynoing please let us know ahead of time so we can get some idea of how many plan to show up. Even if you don't plan to dyno show up just for the fun and to support the vendors.

Hey All,

I need to have the truck dyno'd to see where I am located power wise...

Where is your event taking place also times and fees???

I am 4 hours south(40 miles south of Fresno)... .

Thanks

Rick

Here's a mapquest link. For you probably the best way is north on 99, cut over to I5 to Yuba City then east on Highwya 20. It's right off Hwy 20 and there will be signs, can't miss it. It's right past a big cell phone tower. About 15 miles east of Marysville.

how about 99 north thru Sacramento ( briefly on I5 ) to 70/99 cutoff north of Sacramento past Arco Arena take 70 to Marysville and then east on 20 to Browns Valley.

one way or the other, we will get you there.

:D I just spent this last weekend at Sycamore Ranch. This is a great place to spend a weekend. The new owners are wonderful along with all their staff. Nice clean facilities and they run a tight ship. It would seem though that if you don't make reservations you may not have a place to park. They were full last weekend and I see no reason for them not to be full every weekend.

I didn't see but I have to assume they have a group area somewhere there. Must be up on the hill to the right as you come in.

You guys have a great time there, I am afraid I will miss this one as I have an Elks function to attend that weekend.

D-oh! Well... I won't be able to make it this weekend... too many other things have come up :-{} Hope you guys have a great weekend.

Tom, Tom, Tom... . I hope she's a hottie cuz that's the only thing we're gonna let get you out of this:D :D :D Thats' okay, there' will be plenty more.

For those of you that are coming, when you take Hwy 20 east from Marysville you'll want to slow down when you see a white cell phone tower (only one within like 50 miles). Of course we'll have signs by the highway.

There were some vendors, the AFE guy made some money this weekend for sure, had a jumper out front for the kids to play in. Saturday had plenty of beer, live band, M-1000s going off. The bonfire got cancelled becuase the rain got so loud we couldn't hear inside the building. I think it was around 11PM before everything died down. Dyno broke around 11AM Sunday so then we started the mud bogs. Plenty of demo installs were done, trucks analyzed, the usual bench racing, parking lot mechanics etc and met a ton of new people. Anyway here's the results;

Highest Horsepower was taken by JP Davila with his '02 24 valve Cummins. He started the day around 435 or 440 and with some more mods finished at 477 RWHP 1308 ft. lbs. and about 200 degrees lower EGT!!!!!

Second was my PSD Bill George at 412/920 ft. lbs.

Third was Wes Kyle's '03 6. 0PSD with a Bully Dog box at 401, I couldn't find the dyno sheet but torque was not impressive.

Fourth Greg Colver (Cummnzpower) at 399. 4 (couldn't find the torque sheet Greg).

Shawn Ents 24V 378/717

My dad-Russ George '97 PSD 376/867

Blane Myers (owner Brown's Valley RV) 2000PSD 343/720

Peter ? GM Duramax w/Edge box 336/1237

TR Bridgeman PSD w Banks Stinger Plus 317/881

Dean Wooten PSD w/banks kit 310?no TQ #s

Dave Wilber '03 24V w/ EZ 281/807

Ken Williams 1990 B350Maxivan with 5. 9 Cummins 214/596

There were a few gassers that showed up as well ranging from a mere 110HP to a LS1 that put out close to 600RWHP!

Turn out was pretty good considering the monsoons and a first time event. Blane gives his thanks to everyone that showed and hopes to do this again soon.

As for winner in the mud pit... . well, nobody made it through but Blane's '68 Bronco made it the furthest. Glad we had a backhoe sitting there.

317 with a banks stinger Kit was the banks kit in the back of the truck at the time? and like a ts or a diesel power chip installed???
