OHIO Round-up @ Truck Pulls #6

I am running Rickson's. The only thing is my wheels originally came off a 2003. Those were different axles than the Dana's we're used to. So they work and work prety well, but they arent' the exact replacement.

As for the ride, well, it sucks. Really hard rubber with no give. But, I didn't buy them for the ride. I bought them for the longevity. They wear like iron and you'll get many miles of use from them. I am going to an air ride suspension this year. At least, that's my goal. I keep having setbacks like my electronics giving me fits. So after I get my P-pump conversion done, I will again take up the air ride dealy. I would recommend air ride if you're going to use the stiffer 19. 5's.

One other 'ghetto' solution is to find a Chevy (GMC) bread truck and get the wheels off that. All you have to do is turn out the centers a bit and they'll fit. I think you have to increase the diameter about 1/8". So take off 1/16" all the way around and it should work. Good luck.

Aron - Buy a camera, will ya. I see you have 3 nice galleries all set up and ready.

Chevy bread truck - can't get more getto than that. I have read up a little and understand that these axles use 'hubcentric' wheels that index and I suppose carry the load on the hub. I have seen the specs for the exact size needed - but I believe it needs to be a pretty accurate fit. The wheels on KStevens are off a delivery wagon of some kind, and they looked to be a visually correct backspace/offset.

Thanks for the words of caution on the ride quality. My BFG's are rated at 3400# or so - so if I keep my toungue weight reasonable I should be fine the way I'm running. But you know how it is --- Aron's got the big wheels --- I want some too -----
