Where To Get Battery Clamp Bolts?

So I have been researching how to hook up the in the bed tank to the main fuel tank. What I want to do is put a T in the 1/2 line next to the fuel filler neck and use a check ball valve on the T. Instead of cutting the filler neck line and installing the Northern tool kit.

Where would I find a check ball valve?

Casey

why do you want the check valve, we have never used one on any of ours and i believe it causes excessive pressure in the main tank when it warms up

Thanks for the ideas and pictures. Will those check valves work with a gravity flow? Also the electric valve looks pretty slick . But I am trying not to spend much money cheep cheep.

none of that stuff is needed the gravity feed into the filler tube will keep the tank full we gravity feed through a 2 micron filter to the main tank and only fill the aux tank that way the oem filter will last a very long time we have one that has 75,000+ on the factory filter and no pressure drop across it yet

CKelley 1 so are your running without a valve between the aux tank and the oem tank? If so why doesnt the oem overflow?

Casey

It does and will, eventually. I've got one of their tanks, listed in my sig, and at first, it didn't overflow to leak. But probably a year after the install, it began out of one of the vents on top of the factory tank. Their install kit provided a simple valve that I installed on the bottom feed fitting on the tank before I went thru the bed and teed into the filler neck.

we have many of them on trucks for several years and no leaks i do have a valve on the bottom of the aux tank in case i want to shut it off for some reason but i doubt it has ever been used. pix of three of our 06 trucks with aux tanks are in issue 63

I have mine plumbed in with a valve that I can switch between by throwing a toggle switch in the cab. Tank selector valve

I used one of those in two different 2nd gen trucks with auxiliary fuel tanks. The fuel gauge worked on both tanks and switched over to the tank when the valve switched.

It worked flawlessly for years and thousands of miles once I figured out why it worked only intermittently after it was installed on my first truck.

The dim bulb who did the installation on my first truck didn't hook up the ground wire. He left it loose behind the dash so when the bare end of ground wire touched metal it worked and when it didn't the valve wouldn't shift over to the other tank.

So after looking, researching and playing around. I Teed into the return line from the engine to the tank. It was easy to do because I replaced the fuel lines from the tank to the pump with rubber. I think it will work I will fuel up today and update.
