Maybe some one here can help me out. I have a 95 2500 4x4 with a V-10. The transfer case is making a lot of noise and shows signs that someone in the past had it apart. I can't find a used one and was wondering if a TC out of another truck, or Durango will work with a yoke change or something. I'm not opposed to rebuilding this one but I have no idea where to buy hard parts to get the job done.

A local trans shop should be able to get you whatever parts needed. Rockauto and quad4x4 would be glad to mail you parts. Also, I'm sure there are multiple options for interchange if you were to buy a used one. A junkyard should be able to tell you what to look for.

If you need a good Transfer Case let me check with my Buddy tomorrow he is converting his to Diesel and went to a 47 re/rh and changed out His Transfer case .

What transfer case do you currently have? Should be a NP241D, but is it the LD or the HD version? HD has a PTO provision and a much bigger output shaft. You'll want to get the same model, as the output yoke is close to $200 new, then you may have to have your driveshafts shortened or lengthened.

A 95 V10 or Diesel truck will have a 47RH trans.

You probably have a NP241 DLD. The round tag on the transfer case will tell you for sure. A transfer case from a Durango will probably be a NP231, which is shorter and will require a longer rear drive shaft. If you can find a NP241DHD for cheap, it will only cost around $75 dollars to have the drive shaft cut. If you need some real strength, you can do the same with a NV271 or a NV 273 (push button) from a 3rd gen.
