Not charging

One of my company 1992 trucks is not charging, the a/c quit working and the overdrive stopped working, all at once. We tried swapping the PCM with another of our trucks and that made no differences on either truck. Checked continuity of wires from the alternator to the PCM and they were fine.

Any suggestions? Maybe the key switch?

Start with crank position sensor. Make sure it is gapped correctly then follow the harness back to the main harness looking for broken or cut wires. There is also a plug right along side or slightly above the water pump thta iwll cause issues if the pins do not make good contact. Scrape and grease all your grounds also.



Charging and AC are usually a CPS problem or bad grounds. The OD could be part of the same symptoms or some thing else. Good luck.

Thanks for the help yall. The crank sensor fixed it! I would have never imagined something so damn simple!
