not exactly diesel VERY related

well some of you may know about diy gas turbine engines, and to those who do we need to start a disscussion as i would like to build one and am currently trying to get all the info i can for building one typical specs and operating conditions(temps) that would be seen.

anyways who here knows what im talking about and has anyone built one. i want to talk about it how much power it made and talk about ideas to make it better.

A couple of years ago I saw a video of some one who made a jet engine out of a turbo.



It would only run on liquid propane and generated about 5 pounds of trust but made HUGE amounts of heat and flame.

JEEZE - how would you like to have that intake just 6 inches behind your head at 150K RPM?



AND, the exhaust from it would sure discourage the racing practice of "drafting"... :-laf:-laf

i wanted to build one a few years ago and had plans in my head for a possible combustion chamber to run kero but i can't remember how i wanted to build it it's been so long

i found some specs and designs it seems that, one the combustion chamber size can be fudged and two they will run on any source of fuel. im thinking i will be starting mine on propane and funning it on diesel
