Not Happy!!!

I got 4,400 miles on my 03 Dodge Ram CTD. It has a 48RE transmission. The overdrive quit working on it this weekend. I'm taking it to the dealer tonight. Yes, I checked the o/d button. It's on. Does/has anyone else had this problem with their 48RE? I hope this doesn't become a re-occuring problem.

this has happen to make people. I remember something about a pin coming lose and as a result the od wont work. CHILL OUT

Are you 48re owners aware that the computer won't allow the transmission to shift into overdrive if the fluid temperature is below some threshold? I forget what the number is, but I can look it up at home.

Heck my 46RE did that in my '96. (the undertemp hold)



I was told it was to help the engine warm up.

Update: I got the truck back from the dealer. They replaced a wire harness that was effecting the ecm to malfunction. It works great now.
