E-Brake in Freeway traffic?

I just got a used Edge box from a fellow member. Let me say now that was a pleasure doing business with him. I got the box and installed it minus the boost elbo. I have driven it about 1k miles on the way home from South Florida. I got about 1-1. 5mpg more that usual(which was nice). But, I honestly thought 70 more ponies would have a little more kick! I have a 3500, 6spd,dually, 4x4, 5" exhaust drop in afe, 255x70x22. 5's with 4. 10's and a TAG. Where do I go from here? I tow about 25-30k miles a year and drive un loaded about another 35-45k miles a year. What set-up do you think would be best for me? What is my first step? Is there another chip that stacks well with the Edge? How do I get this thing to somke? Thanks in advance!!

tst and a bomber lite or htt turbo. you need the boost elbow. you got gauges? if not get them. stack you ez with your new tst and you will bow the tires off

First thing you should do is pull the cap off the end and verify which setting it's on.

I tow my 8500 lb race trailer about 25k a yr, headwinds and mountains out west. I played with all the levels (6) and now just leave it on 4. I don't know your towing situation but realize mine is kind of medium in weight and wind drag (maybe a little higher drag than most). You get used to the power and start to appreciate it less.

Then I took the box off for a week, forgot to reinstall it before leaving on a local trip with the same trailer- that's when you realize what it's been doing for you:)

That said, a timing box should unleash even more power

If I were to go with the HTT or bomer light will they tame the egt's of the tst box? Will I have any problems towing with these turbos (slow spool-up)? Can you stack the tst with the edge? What other mods will I need to consider at this point? Keep in mind I drive this truck every day. I also would like to set it up so I can still get 250k miles out of it! I noticed that someone mentioned level 6 on the edge?? I thought it only had four power settings?

Kerm - some of the old edges had a level 6 - way more jam than level 4 - I ran 2 different ez modules @ level 6 - Both caused my truck to surge - not impressed !

Yes you can stack your ez with a TST . I find running a fuel module with the tst keeps the egts a little lower. I tow tst 3x1- Qaudzilla @ 50 hp - no problem with egts.

I have the old tst program anything over 4 x4 setting slipped my old clutch.

one other point once you install a tst - you wont complain of a lack of Hp or torque - Good luck.

We like our's

I have an Edge EZ on my wife's 03 truck and we love it. It's not just the 70HP or 150ft lbs tq;it's the reshaped power curve that rocks. We just dyno'd hers and 349. 8 RWHP w/ just the EZ, an Areoturbine muffler and AFE Mega Cannon.

Check the settings on the EZ. Or maybe you got the BOMBing fever bad?

Don't feel bad... I get bouts of fever myself. Just ordered a Pier's turbo for my 02.

Good luck,

Wiredawg

Kerm - I believe that box was on 2 when I sent it to you, put it on 4 and there is a definite difference, but it isn't going to smoke much, and it doesn't have 5/6. I put a TST on that truck, it now really rocks, but it was a definetely lame when I pulled the EZ off, for the day. The EZ alone should be worth a second or so on your 0-60 time ( 65-70 HP ).

The boost elbow is worth about 150 degrees under load, but I now believe that it's not the best thing for my stock turbo to be runnin 38-40PSI, some agree me, some don't.

I put the BullyDog PowerPup on my 04. 5 and it has nearly every bit of the cahones that the TST has, but its a lot simpler to install ( Not that the TST is tough at all ). I do get some codes at wierd times, and it smokes more than I like on performance program (low boost smoke), and it has a flat spot mid-range, but its software and I hope BDog works these out.

Hope you had a good trip up.
