I have a 2008 2500 quad cab 4X4 and I am the original owner. Until recently the truck has always run a just above 190-195 Deg. In the last few months it has begun to creep upward towards the 200 Deg. mark. It is at the 105K point and I am about to do a service on the cooling system. Replace coolant , Water pump,Thermostat , Rad & Heater hoses plus the Idler, and tension pulleys and of course belt. I'm hoping this will return the temp to its previous range. I'm also going to add a deep sump pan to the transmission which I hope will help with the cumulative heat load.
Is there anything else I should be attending to while I have the front of the engine accessable?
Thanks

I had the same problem, replaced fan clutch assembly and things cooled down for me. After doing so I could hear the fan in 1st 2nd and 3rd when taking off from a stop sign that I could not hear before.

I just finished flushing the cooling system today. I also replaced the water pump and thermostat. I also replaced the radiator hoses and the idler and tensioner pullies. I also replaced the serpentine belt, What a PITA and that's with the radiator and fan shroud out of the way.
By the way, if you need to remove the radiator for whatever reason, you'll find it advantageous to remove the intercooler first. The radiator mounts project to the sides and would strike the intercooler tubes if they aren't removed. I was able to make that determination before I started turning wrenches.
All this resulted in the temperature returning to its original range. I blew a lot of crap out of the fins of the Rad., I/C and both coolers plus the AC condenser. I have a bug screen but it apparently doesn't stop the fine stuff. It wasn't bad for 105K .
I would have hated doing all this with the radiator in place, largely due to the size of my hands plus everything in there is sharp.
As for the fan clutch, it seems to be functioning well. MOPAR is very proud of that part too, nearly $400.00 from Geno's

If I'd seen this earlier, I would have suggested the bypass valve mod for the heater core to block coolant flow to the heater when you don't need it, which based on your location is most of the year!
