Just off of work, driving 35 mph for 5 minutes, up a pretty steep incline when truck failed to shift into a higher gear. RPMs were at 2000 - 2500 and still didn't shift! Pulled onto a side street and started driving again with no shifting problems. Got home all right, and quickly checked auto trans fluid: OK.

Decided 45 minutes later to test drive. Same problem again except it was on a flat road, no inclines.

Made appointment with dealer to check transmission. Question is: Do I drive to dealer or Do I tow truck to dealer>

I am presently resetting throttle position sensor that was advised in earlier threads, hoping that this will work!

Did the reset to the throttle position sensor but with no good results. Test drove truck and does not shift from 1st gear to 2nd gear. Any input on what's going on? Will have to tow truck to dealer to repair!

What year truck?

I'm thinking that it's a vavle hanging up in the valve body. Are you sure it's full of fluid? Check when hot, trans in neutral, engine running. Is it stock? Under warrantee? Where are you located?

I purchased a 2002 4x4 (stock) in July 2002. Had it shipped from Oregon to Hawaii (Kauai). Did check trans fluid: full.
