My 2010 is intermittingly not shifting from 4th to 5th or 6th. It only happens in the morning when it's cold and then stops. I've had one new sensor installed because of this problem in the past. Of course the service area can't duplicate the issue! Am I missing something? There are no codes thrown. Any idea of what's going on? The dealership is aware of the issue but since they can't duplicate it they're not sure where to go.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your truck won't shift into OD when certain parameters aren't met.

I know on my 2010, it won't shift into 6th until the coolant is around 120* and the trans needs to be atleast 52*. The EB won't work either until these parameters are met, stock or deleted...

I also know it won't shift into 5th under certain conditions, I just haven't monitored them that closely.

My truck does the same thing when its cold. Normally won't shift into OD until its warmed up a bit. Has been like that ever since day 1.

From the owner's manual.

NOTE: If the vehicle is started in extremely cold temperatures,
the transmission may not shift into Overdrive
and will automatically select the most desirable gear for
operation at this temperature. Normal operation will
resume when the transmission fluid temperature has
risen to a suitable level.
