alright this is an odd one, just about every day when i drive to work in the morning, i will pull up to a stoplight and sit, when it turns green the transmission just slips really bad, it can barely pull out of the spot and then just seems to firm up as it gets to about 20mph and shifts fine after that. its never the same spot and sometimes never happens, but normally it does. the way i have been dealing with it is if i feel it start to slip i just turn the truck off and right back on and its better for the rest of the day. . transmission temps are normal, i am running a BD torque converter, valve body and pressure loc in a rebuilt trans that has about 7000 since the rebuild.

Thanks

also i just changed the fluid and have been, last change added lucas trans stop slip, seems to have helped the transmission performance.

ahhhh thats a really good question i never thought of that!! i will put a gauge on it and check the pressure lock again but it could be starting in second! hmmm now to track down why...

Next time it happens pull the shifter into 1st or put in 1st before leaving the stop and shift manually. If it is starting in 2nd you most likely have a governer/transducer problem.
