'Nother SMARTY Question

Have any of you 'Smarty' folks tried reading fault codes from another vehicle?

I'm thinking that the DTC reader function of the Smarty would also work on ANY ISO protocol OBD-II interface. The DTC's listed in the user guide document are mostly just industry standard OBD codes.

If we can use it as a Generic scan tool in addition to all it's other great features, it would be even more useful.



Any thoughts?... ... .

Smarty is Dodge/Cummins specific. Smarty uses the DC proprietary protocol to read/erase codes. Don't use it in anything different than what it was designed for!
