As posted in the TDRV section, while your RV,Hay hauler, and yard maintainance trailers are at rest, check the suspensions and see if they need repair. The shackles and bolts are wear items. The lack of lubrication accelerates the wear and you are left on the side of the road needing repair. Do it now while you have the time and have a trouble free next couple years.

I have a friend who stated he was having tire wear problems, Told him to check the suspension links, One broke last month and others were ready to go. His rig, 5th wheel is two years old. I guess that its the milage that we put on them. I did mine last spring with HD items. Don't put it off.

I have a picture if you like that appeared in Trailer Life of these woren links.

Where did you purchase the "HD" suspension links? I just purchased a 2012 toy hauler, 5th wheeler and want to plan accordingly, for proactive/preventive maintenance. Regards.

Just did my 5th wheel w/ the Dexter HD kit. What a difference between the HD shackles and the OEM's. Twice as thick. The instructions from Dexter are pretty straight forward even if you've never done it before. Sturdy tall jack stands are virtually mandatory as are decent jacks. Mine are all cheap ones from Harbor freight but did the job just fine.

My RV doesn't have a down season. We head for ARK in mid Dec for Christmas then wander around Texas and the south for awhile.

I bought mine from Tweety's RV. Theres is MorRide and a bit cheaper that dexters. But heavy duty. It came complete.
