GregH: "Ouch that hurts"

ex-act-ly my point, take a hammer and hit yourself on the head a few times that hurts also. A 44 mag is bad enough IMHO:)

Why? Cause you can! I'm sorry, but even off a bench, that thing has to be a beast. I can't imagine it firing rounds loaded to full rifle power. I'd rather have a Holland & Holland double rifle in that caliber. That should only run around $125,000!:-laf

NOW WE"RE TALKINOo. . The other thing you need beside the cool $125,000 is a "stiff upper lip":-laf. That is a requirement of a Gentleman Hunter from the late 1800's, on an African Safari:D.

Of 'course, as the mighty hunter stands his ground in the face of a charging Bull Elephant of 14 tons and tusks as long as a Dodge ram:-laf. The Gentleman and his stiff upper lip, carefully fires a brain shot at 25 yards. The Bull collapses in a heap and its momentum carries the animal in a cloud of dust to the very feet of the hunter. As the dust clears, the hunter is found standing at attention in a perfect follow through, offhand position, the Mighty . 600 Nitro double rifle still mounted to his shoulder, the Bulls tusks are on either side of his legs and the trunk is wrapped around his legs, below his knees. As the hunter relaxes, he is heard to mutter to his Professional Hunter-guide,"I say, Sedgway! I do believe I've FOULED my drawers"! :-laf GregH

Check out the YOU TUBE........on the 600 Nitro....

YouTube - 600 nitro express pistol

That's what ...

# Bullet Weight: 900 grains (58. 3 g)
# At muzzle:

* Velocity: 1,850 ft/s (560 m/s) or 1,950 ft/s (590 m/s)
* Energy: 7591 ft·lbf (10. 29 kJ)

That's Only 7 Times a 44 MAG or 5 Times a 454 - or 2 times a 300 WBY Mag - GET THE FREAKING PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to be better involved in this discussion - but I'm way too busy fabricating pistol grips on this here neat Howitzer cannon I recently obtained... :-laf

I have a T. C. contender in 45-70, and everyone who has ever shot it has said the same thing-----------------S. O. B!!!!!! And no one has ever wanted to shoot it twice. :-laf:-laf:-laf Randy

Anybody want to sell a S&W Model 25 Revolver (shoots 45 ACP with 1/2 moon clips or I use Auto Rim) with a 8 3/8 inch barrel, Nickel or Blue. I like my 6 1/2 inch barrel and would expect the 8 3/8 would have more accuracy due to the longer barrel. The price is 5 to 10 percent more with the 8 3/8 bbl. The Model 29 also comes in 8 3/8. I could reload down to 44 special velocity and have just about the same thing as a 45. If I can't find a model 25 I just might do that. -- email address removed --
