Probably a few of them. I was thinking it might serve as a good way to pickup my mother inlaw from the airport. The crane could just about handle her baggage loads.

Here's a picture of the front armor plate prior to installation. It's unrelated to the thread, but I think its pretty cool nonetheless. It took some time with the plasma cutter, and yes we brought it all the way back to ND.

How did you get the plating back to the states? All my buddies had to strip off their armor to pass on to the next group of troops taking their place.

Thankfully it looks like it didn't get put to use. Glad you're home in one piece.

I'd take an Osh Kosh over a MAN anyday. We had them on our Ship for the Marines. Incredible machines.

that thing looks alot like the M1089 FMTV Wrecker, which BTW is a POS!!! gimme a 5 ton wrecker with the cummins 250 or the hemmit pictured above.

Well, we also had to leave our armor for the replacements, but we simply said we were keeping this piece and put it in a connex to go back with us. All the HEMTT's were getting manufactured armor kits with ballistic glass before they left kuwait again anyhow. That was the third iteration of armor improvements we made to the wrecker, no serious damage or injuries though thankfully. We spent much more time armoring vehicles for the line platoons(we were a Trailblazer batallion), so they were kept as safe as possible.
