Have a truck in the shop #6 cylinder is dead. Thought it was a injector switched it out same problem. (bad miss dumping raw fuel clouds of grey smoke) Ran the overhead. Still the same, Checked compression has 500psi (engine cold)

Any one have an idea??

you didnt say what year Chuck. I am assuming it is a 24 valve. what happens if you loosen the line to the #6 cylinder? same problem? or does it not smoke as bad? that is one thing I would check. Im sure someone will have other ideas.

did you check all the injectors? If the needle sticks in a injector it will make the next cylinder inline miss.

hope this helps

use a drb III to cut out individual injectors to see if you can make the smoke go away. How did you get 500 psi compression this is more than they make when brand new.

tested all the injectors. Does anyone know for sure what compression should be at? I have seen 460psi and 480psi. So when I got 500 thought that was great in fact ran the other cylinders and have 500 across them.
