going to consider putting a nv 4500 4x4 in place of a getrag 4x4.

did a search and found no answers, so maybe someone can help???

what did you do for hydraulic clutch hose? i understand i need the nv slave cylinder, and thick adapter plate.

... and the 4x4 shifter how did you mount it on the nv? as the np241 is on the drivers side of transmission.

... . and the starter, the ones for first gens stand upright, and the ones for second gens stand sideways(thus hitting the frame in a first gen truck).

... . are the lengths of the trannys the same or do i have to modify driveshafts?

the transmission mounts are not a problem, a 205 bolts right on, and cut a hole in the floor for new shifter.

thanks for the help in advance!

going to sell second generation truck and stay with first gens.

seems to be more of a real truck.

I did an NV 4500 swap not too long ago. I got the transmission and adapter kit through Quad 4X4. Give them a call, they make good stuff. I have heard from several people that the Advance Adapters kit isn't as good. This has some info. The install was pretty easy and straight forward. It's mostly just a bolt-up job (minor cutting, grinding, welding). If you have any more questions let me know.

i also got my nv4500 from quad 4x4. they are very helpful. the bell housing they have bolts on using all of your existing stuff. i had mine done in a weekend doing it alone. good instructions and a very complete kit.

Dan at Quad 4X4 has put together an excellant kit. I too have read posts and talked to people had trouble especially when trying to save $. Advance adapters were the ones with the most problems. :(

Good Luck

Bob:)
