Well my NV-5600 has bit the dust. Been acting badly lately, today wife drove truck to work :( and came home complaining it was hard to get into 3rd/5th gear. So I took her out and it was difficult/impossible to get into 3rd. So I pushed gently

( but a little harder then the other gears require ) and felt a "pop" sorta like a bushing being seated. Now 3rd grinds with every shift. Time for Dr. Benny Boyd Dodge to look at her. If I'm lucky it'll still be grinding. Hopefully they'll just replace it (transmisson) since I've been complaining about rough engagement since new. It sounds like a WalMart coffee grinder. Wish me luck, I would hate to have it rebuilt and wait two weeks. AND I have zero indicated oil pressure and an annoying chime going off constantly... Sounds like another reason to take her to mother.

There is a TSB out for the oil pressure. A reflash is needed then they replace the sensor. DC says not to replace until after the reflash. They do rebuild the trannys now unless everything inside is ground up fairly good. Hope you get lucky and get a new one

UPDATE: Took the service writer for a short drive and he asked when I could bring it back to have a NEW transmission installed. Said it has too many miles of intermittant grinding to justify a rebuild. :D The new gearbox will be in Monday and they'll start as soon as I get there. Nice to have bought from a good dealer. Also had the oil pressure reflash, so far so good.

No DTRL this weekend Herb. Gotta move a trailer south. I found a way to adapt those metric oil ports to 1/8" pipe, still want to wire the DTRL to be off if the engine is stopped. I plan to buy the headlight bulbs you suggested though and still considering upgrading the 20 GA wire. After the Dakota I'm still shy about changing wireing around. BTW, how do you like your DTRL? Send the JCW part # when you get time. Thanks

Now that convinces me that I will definately go with Benny Boyd once I get out of my little inconvience. But how do they react to Bombed parts? Or 5" dual stacks? I guess we will see. Any news on this subject from Benny Boyd Texas Diesel?

Don't know about the bombing, but I'm another one who is extremely pleased with Benny (and his wife who personally calls you after every service visit to see how things went).
