After reading several articles and posts I have decided to change my NV5600 oil and frt & rr differantial oil. I know that the dodge manual states that I don't have to change the Oil in the 5600, but after reeading several posts and articles stating that it will possibly loosen up my shifting. 30k on truck. The manual states the type of fluids but not the quantity  It's not that I can't check the levels, but I would like to know ablut haw much to buy before I start. Also is there any picture of locations I can down load or look at. Any and all help will be GREATLY APPRICATED :D

9. 5 pints for the 5600. Redline MTL, Royal Purple synchromax, Amsoil HDD 5-30 and pennsoil makes a stock oil supplement that will work. I'd buy at least 5 quarts 6 to be safe. You'll need a hex socket to open the fill plug. I think it's 17mm, the drain is just the bottom PTO cover bolt on the driver side. I'd pull the whole cover off and clean off the magnet in the bottom of the transmission. There's probably pictures around on here somewhere.

Ditto on the Redline/Royal Purple in the 5600, I have heard of issues with the Amsoil, little too thin. On the diffs Redline 75-90 in both, if you tow heavy, put 75-140 in the rear, that's the way mine is set up. Do the transfer case also with a good quality ATF III every 20K :D .

FWIW I put royal purple in my transfercase too. It has about 30k on it now and shifts smoother then ever. RP claims it's for t-cases that require ATF. I figured I'd give it a shot, the weight and consistency is very similar.

Oo. Rman and Supermod56, Thanks VERY much for the info, now I can Get R Done as the sying goes... . :-laf
