My 2001 owners manual says the part number for the NV-5600 lube is Mopar #4874464. The Texaco web site says that it's MTX Fluid 12550 (PART#1874) is EQUIVALENT to Mopar #4761526. These are different Mopar part #'s, did DC tweak the fluid for 2001? Does anyone KNOW for sure that the Texaco MTX is still warranty compliant? #ad

Welcome to the TDR!

Many will likely suggest you search through old posts, as this is a fairly frequent thread. But from all the other threads on this subject, yes, Texaco #1874 seems to be the proper fluid. On my 2001. 5 DEE transmission there is a sticker on the PTO cover that specifically lists that very part # for proper usage.

Enjoy!

Tom

Mine has a sticker like Tom's down on the drives side of the transmission on the PTO cover. You may check there to see the correct lube. Mines the 1874 Texaco. I saw a recent post about using synthetic in there. I'll wait awhile to see the results of that but I'd sure like to switch to synthetic if the syncronizers won't be affected.

Good luck on getting the lubricant from Texaco. I tried for a long time and finally had to go to the local DC dealer and pay their outrages price for MOPAR brand.

Thanks for the info, mine says to use the Texaco stuff too on the transmission plate as indicated. My local Texaco dealer says he can order in five gallons of MTX for $45. 99, we'll see.
