I'm creating a conversion project in which I'm mating an NV4500 to an NP208. I had to make an adapter plate to place between the two because the NP208 splined nose was hitting the rear of the tailhousing before I could pull them up tight. Since the NP208 splined nose has nothing to enter into the rear NV4500 seal, I have the NV4500 and the NP208 basically open to each other. The lubricants in each are Syntorq (or Mobil 1) and ATF fluids respectively. I'm worried about cross contamination of disimular fluids. Can I change the NP208 tranfer case fluid to Syntorq or Mobil 1?
